Our Story

Southern Illinois Motor Xpress was established in 1962 by Mr. Willard Arbeiter. In 1988 the operating authority was purchased by Mr. Mark Arbeiter who remains as the President and CEO of the company. Mr. Arbeiter started this endeavor with two trucks and has grown the fleet to nearly two hundred trucks and four hundred trailers. SIMX has experienced vast growth and expansion. Throughout the years the commodities hauled have evolved. SIMX serves customers throughout the United States and multiple provinces in Canada.

Our Locations

SIMX is constantly seeking new business relationships and the growth that comes with this. We currently have four terminals and one commercial vehicle tank wash. Our terminals are at the following locations:

Our Fleet

The SIMX Fleet consists of a variety of late model tractors and trailers. Mr. Arbeiter has made a commitment to safety, quality and reliability to his customers, drivers and to the public.

Our diverse fleet also provides our professional drivers with a variety of equipment to utilize. We currently operate Mack, International, Kenworth, Freightliner and Peterbuilt tractors. Our Trailer fleet consists of pneumatic trailers (food grade and non-food grade), hopper bottom trailers, liquid trailers, and walking floor trailers.

Transporting Dry Bulk Materials

Our diverse late-model fleet includes Peterbilt, Kenworth, Mack, Volvo, Freightliner, and International tractors. Our trailer fleet consists primarily of pneumatic tankers hauling a variety of products including lime, fly ash, sand, carbon, and food-grade materials—with additional vans, liquid tankers, and grain hoppers.
